Jessica Meskel has been a treasured member of the West Hills community since 2008. She studied psychology at Southern Oregon University and Early Childhood Education at the University of Hawaii before settling in Portland and joining our Vermont Street staff. Over the years, Jessie has assumed many roles including Classroom Assistant, Office Support, Summer Program Supervisor and Supervisor of our AM and PM Care Programs.
In her free time Jessie enjoys spending time with her husband, Wally, and their beautiful newborn daughter, Hanna Rose. Their family also includes one cat and two dogs.
Brittany Schau, PM and Nap Program Supervisor, Vermont Street
Having relocated from Iowa to Portland in 2016, Brittany joined the West Hills community that same year as a support person in our Nap and PM care programs. She came to us with a background in social work, having worked in child development centers, as a nanny, and, most recently in wilderness and adventure-based programs for adolescents. Brittany holds a BA in Sociology from Western Illinois University as well as a Masters of Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa.
Because of her regular presence on campus and in our classrooms, Brittany quickly became a fond and familiar presence to West Hills children families, which made her the ideal person to step into the role of Nap and PM Care Supervisor beginning in the summer of 2017.
When Brittany isn’t on campus, she enjoys travel, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Born and raised in Medford, Oregon, Kelsey moved to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration. Following college, Kelsey made her way to Portland and joined the West Hills community in 2006 as part of our aftercare team. She spent many years as a primary classroom assistant before moving into her current role as Administrative Assistant at the Lake Oswego campus. Jessie also supervises the AM/PM and Nap Programs at Lake Oswego. She lives in Tigard with her husband, Frankie, and their son, Barrett (a West Hills student!). She is expecting her second child in September 2017. When not working at school, Kelsey enjoys walks with her family, cooking, time outdoors and, especially, kicking around a soccer ball.
