DESCRIPTION:Dear West Hills Community\,\n\nAfter careful consideration\, we have made the decision to close both of our campuses for tomorrow\, Tuesday\, February 16\, 2021.\n\nThe snow and ice storm has caused both of our campuses to lose power for an extended period of time. The Vermont Street campus has had its power restored\, however the Wi-Fi is not working. Wi-Fi is necessary to allow our Elementary on-site children to access their Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL) Program. Our Lake Oswego campus is still without power. \n\nWhile we are grateful that the snow and ice are beginning to melt\, many residential streets are still covered in snow and/or ice which prevents our community from arriving safely to campus; assuring safe transportation for families and staff is a priority. \n\nLike many of you\, this storm has also caused much damage with downed trees and limbs. Our playgrounds\, outside areas\, and parking lots will take work to clean up along with snow removal from buildings and covered areas with flat roofs. We will have a crew onsite tomorrow to prepare both our campuses for the safe arrival of our staff and students on Wednesday\, February 17 (Lake Oswego campus pending restoration of power). \n\nWe understand the hardship that closing school causes for our students and families. We appreciate your support as we work to achieve a safe environment for our community.

DESCRIPTION:Coming Together (While Staying Apart) During COVID-19 \nOur hearts are with our school family and the greater community as we navigate the changes and challenges that we are all experiencing with the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.  As of April 8\, 2020\, both of our campuses will be closed for the remainder of the school year. \nOn April 1st we launched our distance learning programs utilizing the Seesaw app for our 2 Lower Elementary classes\, 7 Primary classes\, and Toddler community; and the Upper Elementary class is using Google Classroom.  It has been heartwarming to see the connection\, engagement and sense of community continue while we are physically apart.  We are incredibly grateful for our faculty who have shown such creativity and inspiration as they have collaborated with their colleagues to best support our families from a distance.\nAnd most of all\, we are beyond grateful for our parent community who have shown grace\, flexibility\, understanding and support during this time. \nWe are actively enrolling for the 2020-2021 school year. Campus tours and classroom observations will be scheduled once our campuses are open.
