Both campuses CLOSED on Tuesday, February 16

Dear West Hills Community,
After careful consideration, we have made the decision to close both of our campuses for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
The snow and ice storm has caused both of our campuses to lose power for an extended period of time. The Vermont Street campus has had its power restored, however the Wi-Fi is not working. Wi-Fi is necessary to allow our Elementary on-site children to access their Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL) Program. Our Lake Oswego campus is still without power.
While we are grateful that the snow and ice are beginning to melt, many residential streets are still covered in snow and/or ice which prevents our community from arriving safely to campus; assuring safe transportation for families and staff is a priority.
Like many of you, this storm has also caused much damage with downed trees and limbs. Our playgrounds, outside areas, and parking lots will take work to clean up along with snow removal from buildings and covered areas with flat roofs. We will have a crew onsite tomorrow to prepare both our campuses for the safe arrival of our staff and students on Wednesday, February 17 (Lake Oswego campus pending restoration of power).
We understand the hardship that closing school causes for our students and families. We appreciate your support as we work to achieve a safe environment for our community.
